In an increasingly uncertain and complex world, what are today’s organisations doing to gain a competitive edge? Across the globe, leaders are saying that operating in an increasingly volatile and uncertain world is their primary challenge. And a surprising number of them say they feel ill-equipped to succeed in this drastically different world.

Peter Korsten, global leader at Institute for Business Value, IBM Corporation, shared insights from the 2010 IBM Global CEO Study. The largest known study of its kind, the research project polled more than 1500 CEOs from companies of all sizes, located in 60 countries and representing more than 30 industries. Peter Korsten told us how leaders are dealing with this level of complexity and what strategies the most successful organisations are employing to tap into new opportunities and overcome barriers to growth.
