In the digital age, we are exposed to a vast volume of fake information, photos and videos. The ‘fake news’ phenomenon has particularly impacted today’s politics, media and society. What does social media data tell us about the fake news phenomenon? What are the tools and techniques you can apply to identify fake articles, websites and social media contacts? This session will feature some of the recent research findings and will provide you with practical methods to identify ‘fakes’ and counter the new digital challenges.
