Biography
Eleni was born and raised in Rhodos, Greece. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Patras University, she decided to pursue her academic interests in the Netherlands with a Master in Biomedical Sciences at Leiden University. She received the Huygens Scholarship for the year 2007–2008. Currently, Eleni is finalising her PhD at the University of Amsterdam, working on improving embryo quality during assisted reproduction. Reproductive biology is her passion and she would like to continue doing research on improving success rates after in vitro fertilisation treatment.
Her decision to move abroad helped her develop both personally and professionally. The Netherlands as a country provides excellent opportunities to students and young professionals. Furthermore, its multi-cultural population always thrilled Eleni as she enjoys meeting new people and learning about their cultures.
