Biography
Until recently, Melinda worked as a researcher and research coordinator at the Amsterdam Institute for International Development. Her work took her to villages in Indonesia, Mozambique and Rwanda to evaluate the impacts of development programmes funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She greatly enjoyed the process of designing, collecting and analysing data as well as learning about all the interesting projects of local NGOs.
Currently, she is living in Berlin and working on rounding off her PhD thesis in development economics at the VU University Amsterdam. At the same time, her passion and mission is to promote climbing to people with physical disabilities. She is also interested in issues related to sustainability.
Having found a welcoming and open-minded community of young professionals at HUTAC, she would like to contribute to strengthening HUTAC’s community experience through facilitating meaningful exchanges of ideas and skills.
