Brian Fitzgerald spent 35 years at Greenpeace, driving innovation internally and learning how to work the levers of disruptive communications. Prepare to embark on Brian’s thrilling journey, which saw him wear, well, all the hats: one-man IT department, governance architect, communications director, deckhand, action coordinator. From helping set up Greenpeace offices in Italy and the former Soviet Union to building a web activism team before web activism was a thing, Brian’s done it all – with purpose and an innovative spirit. Come hear his story and carry that positive, can-do attitude into an afternoon full of inspiring workshops!

And to top it off, this year’s Opening Plenary will also feature an innovative music performance. Two Turkish multi-instrumentalist composers, Yankı Bıçakçı and Cengiz Arslanpay, will explore a combination of musical elements such as traditional Eastern micro-tonality, technology and improvisation. The performance will be prepared particularly for the HUTAC conference, using a variety of cool tools. Look forward to a memorable event!
